L’Oustau de Baumanière comes to Mozaic
For one night only, 2-star Michelin French restaurant L’Oustau de Baumanière will bring the best of Provence to Mozaic Ubud on Saturday 18 January 2014, with traditional French haute cuisine from southern France.
L’Oustau chef, Bernard Chatton will prepare classic dishes that have put Provence on the international food map with guests treated to a six-course degustation menu (with optional wine pairing) that epitomizes the region including roasted duck with cherries and crêpe soufflé.
What makes this evening even more special is that L’Oustau de Baumanière is where Mozaic’s chef and owner Chris Salans started his career as an intern, under the guidance of Bernard Chatton.
“I’m super excited to welcome L’Oustau de Baumanière to Bali,” Chef Chris Salans said. “This is where I began my career which no doubt has influenced my cooking and dishes at Mozaic Ubud.”
“While the cuisine of southern France has evolved like other cuisines across the globe I have asked Bernard in this instance to prepare classic dishes that have made Provence famous. It will offer tourists and residents of Bali a rare chance to taste some of the finest cuisine in the world that has inspired chefs like myself.”
Chef Salans also commented that there was no better chef than Bernard Chatton to host the dinner, having worked at L’Oustau for 30 years. “Bernard is indeed a ‘veteran’ when it comes to French cuisine and leaves no technique unturned. We are very fortunate to have him ‘take over’ our kitchen for the evening and show us his skills in the kitchen, ” Chef Chris Salans said.
The cost of the dinner is IDR 1,000,000 ++ per person. Optional wine pairing will also be available.
The dinner is kindly supported by Ayung Resort Ubud.
