Mozaic Restaurant Gastronomique in Ubud welcomes World Class chefs Alain Caron and Jacques Pourcel for a three chefs dinner with Chef Chris Salans.
Mozaic Restaurant Gastronomique in Ubud, proudly presents a meeting of three greats, a dinner of “trois toques” or three world class chefs, in its garden set culinary discovery haven. On 23 February, Ubud becomes the capital of greats, with a great culinary event. The three great chefs of their generation, come together for a chef’s menu designed collectively for the event. With several restaurants, events and culinary excellence credits to their names, Caron, Pourcel and Salans are gifting their guests with an unprecedented feast, at Mozaic Restaurant Gastronomique in Ubud, Bali.
French born Jacques Pourcel’s Montpellier Le Jardin des Sens opened in 1988 quickly became one of the top gastronomic venues of South of France, with Michelin Stars and Awards also following. In 1998, the third Michelin Star was awarded for his creative style of fine food. Distinct for textural plays and contrasts of hot and cold, smooth and crunchy, sweet and savory, Jacques Pourcel has been travelling and opening restaurants in several cities on three continents: fine dining can be found in Shanghai, Bangkok, Tokyo, Geneva, Marrakesh, Paris, ethnic cuisine concept brasseries Montpellier, Béziers, Levallois-Perret, Mauritius, and lastly bistrots specializing in fish at Sète and Marseillan. With twin brother Laurent, Jacques Pourcel is a French Culinary ambassador, and author of several books.
Based in the Netherlands, French born Alain Caron has worked with chefs étoilés like Boyer, Bardet, Roux, Guérard, Trois Gros. With a long list of published articles, and international press coverage, Alain Caron has appeared as a Star Chef in many international world culinary events and television programs. Although he does not own a restaurant, his appearances, caterings and many special private dinner and culinary activities have made him one of the world’s most famous chef and recognized culinary phenomenon. His latest cookbook The French Country of Alain was published in 2012.
The host for this magical culinary extravaganza is chef-owner Chris Salans. With over 10 years of experiencing Asia, representing Bali and Indonesia in international events as a Master Chef, Chris Salans continuously presents a cuisine of French techniques and Asian or Balinese flavors at a world class level. “Working with Caron and Pourcel for this dinner is like a play date with your best childhood friends, like-minded conspirators, in a feast we create for ourselves while hoping our guests will enjoy the degustation as much as we have the crafting. I am so very much looking forward to it.”, says Salans.
