For a tiny island, Bali packs a big culinary punch. Noted as one of the most exciting foodie destinations in the world, it can arguably be said that there are four major players who stand out as being instrumental in putting it on the global fine dining map.
All hailing from very different backgrounds, with vastly different styles of cuisines, each of the four chefs has chopped, simmered and plated to the beat of their own drum.
– CHRIS SALANS: head honcho at the highly acclaimed and awarded Mozaic, nestled in the haven of Ubud
– PHIL DAVENPORT: kitchen chief at iconic hotspot Ku De Ta
– NICOLAS ‘DOUDOU’ TOURNEVILLE: maestro of French-Mediterranean fare at the sublime Metis
– WILL MEYRICK: the Street Food Chef himself, at the helm of the South East Asian fine-dining flagship Sarong
They are the originals. The chefs who were cooking up a storm before hungry gastronomes from all over the world started flocking to the island to get their foodie fix. And they are still blazing a trail.
On the 22nd May 2013 this vision will be brought to life in a special night of feasting, fun and friends that you won’t want to miss.
Hosted by the Mozaic Beach Club, the evening will commence with a red carpet arrival and sunset cocktails and canapes by the sea, before being followed by the evening’s centrepiece: a decadent, four-course feast, which each course created and presented by one of the chefs.
With a roving camera in the kitchen to capture some of the candid behind-the-scenes action as each of the four teams bring their dishes to life, along with at-table appearances and personal moments for all the guests with the chefs themselves, the dinner promises to offer a unique and spirited ‘insider experience’ with these four great gastronomic minds.
