Chris Salans wins 2 major honours at the 2015 World Gourmet Summit Awards of Excellence

IMG_2544Chris Salans & Mozaic Restaurant were among esteemed company at the 15th Annual World Gourmet Summit Awards of Excellence, held in Singapore. The best and brightest stars of Asia’s food scene were in attendence with the likes of Will Meyrick of Sarong (Bali – Indonesia), Aaron Landau of Jimmy’s Kitchen (Singapore), Matt Abergel of Yardbird (Hong Kong) & Yoshihiro Narisawa of Narisawa (Tokyo – Japan) all being nominated. Despite stiff competition Chris took home the highly coveted MANITOWOC Restaurateur of the Year (Regional) & MARTELL Asian Restaurant of the Year (Regional) awards.

The Awards of Excellence were inagurated in 1997 to recognise excellence in the food and beverage industry in Asia and quicky became one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies in the region.

The MANITOWOC Restaurateur of the Year (Regional) award recognises owners of restaurants with a commitment not only to promoting culinary service and excellence, but who also show a commitment to social initiatives to further develop the regions culinary offering, which is central to Chris’ philosophy of giving back.

The highly coveted MARTELL Asian Restaurant of the Year (Regional) award is given to restaurants in the region that consistently surpass usual standards of service and culinary excellence and provide extraordinary dining experiences for guests.

Chris and the team were extatic to win both awards and are already hard at work looking forward to next year.
