Chris Salans at Top Chef Indonesia


As we write these lines, Top Chef Indonesia is filming its last episodes of the 2013 series in Jakarta, featuring Bali’s own Chris Salans and Will Merrick as guest chefs. Alongside Vindex Tengker Chef of the Dharmawangsa Hotel in Jakarta and Henry Alexie Bloem, President of the Indonesian Chef Association – permanent chefs in the competition, Chris Salans of Mozaic Restaurant and Mozaic Beach Club fame, comes to Top Chef Indonesia as an 8-episode guest chef.

Airing from August for 16 weeks on SCTV, this American reality competition features chefs competing against each other in culinary challenges. Participants are judged by a panel of professional chefs and other notables from the food and wine industry with one or more contestants eliminated in each episode. With host celebrity chef Farah Quinn, the judges will see participants competing in several challenges and one Top Chef will be Indonesia’s first.

Aired in 9 countries around the world, outside of the American versions, Top Chef is the no. 1 cooking challenge show in the USA. The franchise also includes a ‘university’, games, dinners, magazine and cookbooks.
